Mumbai Indians posted an eight-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders.
Spencer Johnson troubled Mumbai's openers but failed to take a wicket.
It was Mumbai's first win of the IPL season.
Mumbai Indians have won their first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season with a comfortable eight-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Australia fast bowler Spencer Johnson produced a sharp opening spell, taking the new ball as he spearheaded KKR's challenging task of defending a paltry 116 all out in Mumbai.
After Rohit Sharma bunted a single off the first ball, Johnson gave Ryan Rickelton a going over, beating the bat four balls on the trot.
South African Rickelton finally got wood on leather with the final delivery, only to find a fielder.
But any pressure on Mumbai eased as KKR's Harshit Rana went for 14 in the next over, including a free-hit six by Rohit following a no-ball.
Mitchell Starc stars with the ball for Delhi Capitals in their seven-wicket victory over a Sunrisers Hyderabad team captained by Pat Cummins in the Indian Premier League.
Rohit was the first wicket to fall, caught Harshit off the bowling of Andre Russell for 13.
Russell also claimed the wicket of Will Jacks (16).
Rickelton eventually finished unbeaten on 62 (from 41 deliveries), with Suryakumar Yadav not out following a quick-fire 27 from nine balls.
Johnson only bowled two overs, finishing with 0-14.
"I could not lay bat on it at the start," Rickelton said after the match.
"It was nibbling around quite a lot. I was lucky to get a few away to calm me down.
"I'm definitely going to enjoy my time here. It's a special place to be."
Earlier IPL debutant Ashwani Kumar, playing only his third T20 match, took 4-24 as KKR were bowled out in 16.2 overs.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi top-scored for KKR with 26.
