Wankhede track always is a run-feast. The red-soil pitch at the Wankhede has traditionally produced high-scoring games, further aided by the stadium’s small boundaries. With dew coming into play, toss could play a big role with skipper opting to bowl first.

We have an absolute belter. We have a beautiful covering of grass and underneath it’s really hard, it means it’s a batter’s paradise. I’m looking forward to the spin twins, Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine. The better bowlers always find a way to defend on these kind of surfaces. But, the faster and faster you bowl, the farther you will travel. You are playing dead-center of the ground and you have options to play with. A bouncer is a good option to surprise batters and to not allow them to line you up, say Eoin Morgan and Nick Knight on-air.
MI skipper Hardik Pandya wins the toss and has opted to bowl first.
Kolkata Knight Riders: Quinton de Kock(w), Sunil Narine, Venkatesh Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane(c), Rinku Singh, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Andre Russell, Ramandeep Singh, Spencer Johnson, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakaravarthy
Mumbai Indians: Ryan Rickelton, Will Jacks(w), Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya(c), Naman Dhir, Mitchell Santner, Deepak Chahar, Trent Boult, Ashwani Kumar, Vignesh Puthur
Kolkata Knight Riders Impact Subs: Anrich Nortje, Anukul Roy, Manish Pandey, Vaibhav Arora, Luvnith Sisodia
Mumbai Indians Impact Subs: Rohit Sharma, Corbin Bosch, Raj Bawa, Robin Minz, Satyanarayana Raju
Action gets underway and Trent Boult strikes in the very first over to remove the dangerous Sunil Narine in the fourth ball. Dream start for the hosts.
Four overs have been passed and we have had wickets, runs, catch drop and some exciting strokeplay. KKR have lost their skipper Ajinkya Rahane, as well as Quinton de Kock in the first five overs to leave them hustling for runs. However, Angkrish Raghuvanshi has looked solid and if stays on more, could prove crucial for KKR and their innings.

Powerplay over and KKR are in deep, deep trouble! At 41/4, the reigning champions wouldn’t have hoped for a dreadful start as this after losing the toss. Venkatesh Iyer (3) was the latest to fall after edging it to the MI keeper Ryan Rickelton.

    KKR 41/4
After losing half their side, Kolkata Knight Riders have subbed off Angkrish Raghuvanshi and brought in Manish Pandey to steady their faltering ship. Pandey is at the crease alongside Rinku Singh as they look to take KKR to a decent total against MI.

    KKR 65/5
The reigning IPL champions are in all sorts of trouble and need a miracle if they are to get out of trouble tonight. 84-7 isn’t a pretty looking scorecard but with batting prowess still in their ranks, KKR will need some Andre Russell fireworks to get them to a big score.

    KKR 84/7
15 overs down and KKR’s batting has faltered and are just one wicket away from being all out at Wankhede Stadium. The batting has not been good tonight, and when the camera pans on skipper Ajinkya Rahane, who wears a worried look. As for MI, they have been brilliant especially debutant Ashwani Kumar.

    KKR 102/9
Mitchell Santner snaps up the last wicket of Ramandeep Singh as KKR are all out for 116 in 16.2 overs. What a disappointing end to their innings, despite some scintillating shots from their youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi. Should be a cakewalk for the hosts.

I felt very good, there was pressure but the team environment helped me to settle down. I didn’t have lunch today, I only ate a banana, there was some pressure so I didn’t feel hungry. I made a bit of plan, they (team management) told me that it’s my debut match so enjoy yourself and back your skills. The captain also played his role, Hardik bhai told me to bowl it into the wicket. Everyone back in the village will be watching me play, I got my opportunity today and I’m very happy.
MI openers Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickleton are the crease in pursuit of 117. Spencer Johnson has the new ball.
Unlike KKR’s opening innings, MI have been watchful and steady with Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton. But the ball has flew of their bat as MI built towards the score of 117.

Rohit Sharma, an Impact Sub tonight, was dismissed after the former skipper ended up hitting the toe end of his bat and straight into the hands of Harshit Rana as KKR snatched up their first wicket of the evening. Andre Russell, who has been plagued by injury, dropped it short only for Rohit to hit it straight to KKR fielder.

SA recruit Ryan Rickleton is looking solid at the crease and is inching towards his first IPL fifty as the southpaw been the mainstay of MI’s chase of 117. Despite the fall of Rohit Sharma, Rickelton has not bogged down and hit freely.

    KKR 116 All Out
Mumbai Indians need 28 runs in 60 balls as the five-time champions are on the verge of ending their barren run. A superb bowling performance doubled that with Ryan Rickelton’s fifty will give the MI camp a good night’s sleep tonight.

It’s a big thing for me to get this opportunity and get the Man of the Match. My native place is in Mohali district. Has taken a lot of hard work and by God’s grace I’m here. I had full confidence but still there’s always nervousness before a game. Whatever opportunities I get, will make people proud back home.
