The Trend plays for this Wednesday for Music at the Point from 6 to 8 p.m. at Point Gratiot.
The Trend will perform Wednesday for Music at the Point from 6 to 8 p.m. at Point Gratiot. The event is sponsored by Southern Tier Environments for Living, Inc. (STEL) and Lawley Insurance.
The Trend, covering 60’s rock ‘n roll and R&B, was formed in Buffalo in 1966 and became a popular band at high school dances. Of the original four members, two remain in the band including Dave Chiarmonte (lead singer and bass) and Dave Roach (guitar and vocals). Joe Saeli (guitar and harmonica) joined the band in 1970. College, careers, etc., brought about a hiatus, but the band started again in earnest in the mid-80’s. Recent additions include Bill Basil (drummer) and Therese Vita (vocals).
Other upcoming performances to include the following dates/bands: July 30 – FootSteps, August 6 – The Freeze, August 13 (Lawley V.I.P. Night) – The Living Room Jam Band, August 20 – Tim Britt and Evan Laedke and August 27 (STEL V.I.P. Night) – School of Rock House Band.
Visitors are reminded to bring a chair, snacks and refreshments and enjoy the sunsets and music at Point Gratiot. The Serving Up Smiles ice cream truck will also be selling treats that evening.
A special thanks goes out to Rick Blaszyk of Atlas Comfort Cabins and Enviro-Kleen Services for donating the use of the portable toilet located near the music pavilion.
