After a pretty slow start, Shahdad has recovered well and completes a solid half-century off 79 deliveries, which includes three boundaries and a six. UAE need him to bat through if they want to take this match over the line. UAE need 111 more to win.
A big over off Bhurtel, with Shahdad getting a four and a six, improves UAE’s run rate, and the Emiratis cross the 100-run mark in the 28th over with a run rate of almost four-an-over. The required rate, meanwhile, has gone over run-a-ball.
Right after it felt like he had gotten going, Sohaib Khan’s stay comes to an end as Rajbanshi traps him with a LBW. Muhammad Waseem comes on and gets off the mark.
With the required rate rising, Sohaib Khan has decided to take initiative, dispatching Nandan Yadav for a couple of boundaries before getting another one off Airee. Shahdad also gets a four off Lamichhane, the UAE batter is yet to get going. The required rate is just short of run-a-ball.
A few tight overs have stopped the flow of runs, with Nepal conceding just three off the last three overs. Shahdad is particularly finding it difficult to get going, batting at 12 off 32. Lamichhane with back-to-back maidens.
Another setback for UAE. Alishan Sharafu, looking to build a partnership, is caught by Rohit Paudel off Nandan Yadav for 18. UAE now 33/2 after 7 overs, and the pressure is building on the middle order.
Karan KC strikes in first over and provides an early breakthroug to the team. He dismisses Aryansh Sharma in the last ball of the first over. Nepal woud be wanting more from the bowler.
Alishan Sharafu and Aryansh Sharma are batting, with Sharafu facing the first ball. Karan KC will begin the bowling for Nepal.
Nepal finish their innings at 239/9 in 50 overs, recovering well after a shaky start. Kushal Malla played a vital hand with a steady 45-run knock, guiding the tail and ensuring Nepal had something competitive on the board. The final few overs proved crucial as the batters managed to squeeze out valuable runs in the death, lifting the total close to 240.
Nepal lost Nandan Yadav in the 46th over but Kushal Malla has kept them alive in the game with constant strikes. He has picked up the pace and is punishing the lose deliveries. Nepal would be happy if they get anything around 240.
Junaid Siddique has wreaked havoc by dismissing two Nepal batters in a single over. He first gets the set batter, Aarif Sheikh then dismisses Karan KC in the last ball of the 43rd over. Things are not looking good for Nepal now.
Aarif Sheikh takes charge after Airee’s dismissal. Kushal Malla joins him as they both aim to put up a fighting total from here for their team. UAE, again, has kept the bowling tight, giving very less to score to the batters.
Huge blow for Nepal! Dipendra Singh Airee was looking solid, building momentum with smart strokes, but a mix-up costs him his wicket. Aarif pushed it towards mid-off, and a quick throw from Muhammad Waseem to Aryansh Sharma caught Airee short of his crease. A well-set Airee departs for 37, a costly run-out just when Nepal needed stability.
Dipendra Singh Airee has kept the scoreboard ticking single-handedly while wickets have fallen constantly from the other end. Someone has to step up and build a strong partnership with Airee in order to put up a great totatl by end of the innings.
The wickets keep on tumbling for Nepal, and it’s Sharki’s turn to depart, just two runs short of his half century. Another catch for Sharafu, and the Rhinos are in some trouble. Dipendra Singh Airee comes on as the new batter.
The captain, Paudel, departs! It was a very frustrating innings from the Nepalese batter, but it comes to an end as he holes out to Sharafu, and Nepal lose their third. Aarif Sheikh is the new batter.
Aasif OUT! This is the last thing that Nepal would have wanted at this point. Despite keeping the scoreboard ticking wonderfully with boundaries peppered here and there, a moment of confusion between Sharki and Aasif sees the latter run out by Parashar, and Nepal lose their second. Rohit Paudel is the new batter.
A steady rebuild from Nepal after the early setback. Bhim Sharki and Aasif Sheikh are rotating the strike well, keeping the scoreboard ticking. The pair’s calm approach has steadied things nicely at 52/1 after 12 overs.
After losing Kushal Bhurtel in the 2nd over, Aasif Sheikh and Bhim Sharki have steadied the innings and anchoring with constant running between the wickets. UAE bowlers haven’t done anything wrong so far and have kept the line and length pretty tight.
Poor start for Nepal. They have lost their first wicket in the 2nd over already. Zahid Ali strikes and sent Kushal Bhrutel back to the pavilion. Bhurtel departs for just 2.
