Josh Reed
UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State men’s basketball coach Mike Rhoades recently announced the addition of Cincinnati transfer Josh Reed to the Nittany Lion program.
He joins Penn State with one season of eligibility remaining.
Reed, a 6-foot-8, 220-pound forward from Georgia, saw action in 97 games through his first three collegiate seasons with the Bearcats. He is coming off a junior season in which he started nine of the final 10 games of the season, finishing the year averaging 4.8 points and 2.5 rebounds per game while shooting 85.3 percent from the free throw line.
One of the top defenders for the Bearcats, Reed also scored in double figures six times throughout his junior season with all six double-digit scoring performances coming in the final two months of the season.
Reed was a Rivals top 150 recruit out of high school at Pace Academy where he was a two-time state champion, a first-team All-State honoree and a three-time All-Region selection.
“We are thrilled to welcome Josh to our family,” Rhoades said. “He is a versatile player who can handle the ball, shoot from the perimeter and defend at a high level.”
