The North West Cricket League is looking to recruit new clubs for the 2026 season.
The League began in 2023, and currently there are 20 teams in the Premiership and Championship divisions, with promotion and relegation between the two, and 31 teams in the three Conference divisions.
The Conference divisions comprise a mixture of first and second teams, and there is promotion and relegation between the three divisions.
Currently there is no automatic promotion between the top two divisions and the Conference divisions, but it is anticipated Feniscowles, who asked to be placed in the Conference for the 2025 season, will be making a return to the Championship in the not too distant future.
The League, whose main sponsor is Anthony Axford Ltd, is run by the clubs, who meet bi-monthly supported by an executive who meet monthly.
It has sufficient umpires to ensure there are two at each match in the top two divisions, and a minimum of one in the Conference divisions.
The North West Cricket League also has a thriving junior section, including clubs whose senior teams play in other leagues. Some of its own clubs play their junior cricket neighbouring leagues.
Clubs wishing to apply or receive further information should contact league secretary, Ray Taylor, by email to raysue11@aol.com or by calling 07850 447492.
The League are not limiting the number of applicants, provided the standard of cricket is perceived to be a suitable standard for one or other of the divisions, and the grounds and facilities are of satisfactory standard.
However, while the League would consider increasing the number of clubs across the divisions, there are no plans to form a third division with promotion between that division and the Championship division.
