Not Yashasvi Jaiswal But Temba Bavuma Picks THIS Player As Future Of Indian Cricket – Cricket.com

There is little doubt that the talent Indian cricket has at its disposal is scary. With a superb domestic structure and the Indian Premier League (IPL), India have plenty of talented players making it to the top and also shining at the international level.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sai Sudharsan and even teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi are some of the top young cricketers India have at the moment.
However, one such cricketer, who has been in the talks of a longer rope in Test cricket, is Dhruv Jurel, who South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma believes is the future of Indian cricket.
The 24-year-old wicketkeeper-batter was impressive in the unofficial Test against South Africa A, where he scored 132* and 127* and has assured himself of a place in the first Test against the Proteas, starting November 14 (Friday) in Kolkata
"I was part of the South Africa A squad. We played a four-day series in Bengaluru at the Centre of Excellence. I played in the second Test and I got to see Dhruv Jurel. I think he is a fantastic batter, fantastic player," Bavuma said on Star Sports, as per Sportskeeda.
"Technically proficient and bats at a good intensity as well. I think for the future of Indian cricket, I can see him playing a big role within that space if he continues to grow the way he is. I think he is an exciting young international player."
In his limited chances in Tests, Jurel has scored 430 runs at 47.77 in 11 innings, which includes a century and a fifty.
Bavuma also showered praises on his counterpart Shumban Gill, who he believes is a fantastic player, but adds he has huge shoes to fill from a captaincy standpoint.
"It's exciting times for Indian cricket. I think, Shubman, he has got big shoes to fill, taking over from a guy like Rohit Sharma, and what he has done for Indian cricket. But look, he is a fantastic player," Bavuma said.
"Look at the way he started off in England, first of all, as a batter. It's never easy going over there and scoring runs. So to be able to do that and with the responsibility of captain, I think that's a big feather in his cap, and I am sure he will grow into it," he further added.
India begin the two-match series third on the World Test Championship (WTC) points table with 61.90 PCT, while South Africa, who just drew the series in Pakistan, are at 50 PCT.
