Fakhar Zaman after his half-century has slowed down, but Kamran Ghulam has ensured that the flow of runs does not take a huge dip. Both have added run-a-ball fifty for the second wicket partnership and look well-set to provide incoming batters a solid platform to chase later. 
Despite the fall of Babar Azam’s wicket, Fakhar Zaman has not slowed down his innings and notched up his 17th ODI half-century, laced with five fours, and two sixes. Kamran Ghulam, too, has managed to get the scoreboard ticking, scoring 15 off 15, enabling some pressure of Zaman.

After a slow start, Pakistan’s openers, particularly Fakhar Zaman, have taken the New Zealand bowlers to the cleaners, hitting them for boundaries at will. Out of the 48 runs, Zaman has singlehandedly struck 38 runs, while Azam contributed only 8 runs. 
This has been a subdued start from Pakistan openers, where Fakhar Zaman could have been out as many as two times. A lot depends on Zaman to provide Pakistan a quick start, with Babar Azam most likely playing the sheet anchor role. 
Welcome back for the chase, as Pakistan opener Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman are out in the middle. Both Azam and Zaman will hope to provide Pakistan with a steady start and make full use of the powerplay. On the other hand, New Zealand pacers will look to make early inroads having put up a mammoth score on the board. 
A daunting total posted by New Zealand, and Glenn Phillips played a wonderful knock to help them to achieve such a total. The Black Caps lost their openers for a low score. Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell slammed fighting half-centuries and also stitched a crucial stand for the third wicket. However, the visitors lost wickets in quick succession. Michael Bracewell played a decent cameo and added some handy runs, but it was Phillips who stole the show. The batter remained unbeaten on 106 runs off 74 balls and helped New Zealand to reach a powerful score.

Talking about the wicket, it was a short ball around off, and Bracewell went the aerial route. Pakistan has been dominant in One Day Internationals recently. The side defeated likes of Australia and South Africa in the latest series and also came back from a game down to beat Zimbabwe. Mohammad Rizwan will lead the side, with plenty of experienced players in the mix. Star batter Babar Azam is expected to open alongside Fakhar Zaman as Saim Ayub is ruled out for long time. Agha Salman’s all-round abilities will be they key for the hists and pacer trio Shaheen, Naseem, and Haris will lead the side.
As for the New Zealand side, the Blackcaps enter the series after a convincing win over Sri Lanka at home, but struggled in previous series in Asian conditions. Kane Williamson’s return will certainly bolster the batting and he will look for support from Devon Conway and Will Young.
