PBKS vs KKR IPL 2025 live score: It’s Punjab Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders, but the subplot of Shreyas Iyer against his former team, takes precedence here. One year ago, this Indian star led KKR to their third IPL title and the defending IPL captain is now against the current champions in the 31st match of the tournament.
Punjab were off to a flyer with two wins in as many matches at the start of the season. They now have two losses in three outings. PBKS would want to regroup themselves and get back to the winning ways. KKR have been hot and cold throughout the tournament, with three wins and three losses coming in alternating terms.
Match Scorecard
This is now the lowest total defended in the history of IPL. The previous lowest was 116, it is 111 now. What a game.
Punjab snatch this from the jaws of defeat. Jansen gets Russell and take PBKS home by 16 runs.
Arshdeep gets a wicket off the final ball of his over. KKR are nine down now.
Marco Jansen now gets a wicket. KKR are falling apart like a pack of cards. Jansen now gets Harshit bowled. KKR have only two in hand and need 33 more from 42 balls. Can Russell do it?
Chahal has got another. He is cock-a-hoop. Ramandeep scoops it and is caught by the moving slip on the leg side.
Chahal is on fire. He is doing the trick here. He now gets Rinku Singh with a beautiful leg-spin. Suddenly, KKR are in choppy waters now.
This match is not over yet. Maxwell now traps Venkatesh in front to send KKR 5 down. This isn’t over yet
Chahal into his first over and gets the KKR skipper out LBW. This looked to be out on impact but the finger is up. Rahane does not review. KKR are 3 down but still in control with 50 needed.
The Knight Riders lost a couple of wickets early on but things are well under control. End of the seventh over, they are 60/2. Captain Rahane is in the middle alongside Angkrish Raghuvanshi.
The two KKR openers – Sunil Narine and QDK – are out in the middle, and they will be looking for a strong start. Arshdeep Singh with the ball in hand.
PBKS have been bowled out here. A proper mow-down of their batting. A big mix-up between Arshdeep and Bartlett here and the latter is run-out at the non-striker’s end. Punjab shot down for 111
Just when they were building a partnership, PBKS have lost another one. Xavier Bartlett has been dismissed LBW here. He reviews. but to no avail.
Sunil Narine gets the better of Marco Jansen. The South Africa international departed for one run. PBKS are 86/8
There seems to be nothing going their way. Narine now gets Shedge caught-behind on a loosener.
Maxwell is gone too. Oh my word. PBKS are in deep deep trouble. What a ball by Varun. It darted in as Maxwell look to push it on the offside. There is a big gap between the bat and pad as the ball sneaks past to hit the timber.
Another one bites the dust. Nehal whipped this to the leg side and Venkatesh Iyer charges in from deep square to pouch it. PBKS have called in an impact sub Suryansh Shedge in now
Prabhsimran is gone too. The set batter is now out. He has flat-batted it to backward point. Harshit has his third and Ramandeep takes another catch. PBKS in deep trouble.
Varun Chakravarthy gets his first wicket. Josh Inglis departed for two runs. PBKS are 42/3
Another wicket for Harshit Rana. Shreyas Iyer, who won it for KKR in 2024, departed without opening his account. Terrific from the defending champions, sends off their former skipper in style.
Harshit Rana got the better of Priyansh Arya. The youngster departed for 22 runs off 12 deliveries. Massive wicket for KKR.
The Punjab openers – Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran – are out in the middle. Vaibhav Arora has the new ball in his hand and he is up against the in-form Priyansh. Off we go.

We were looking to bowl first on this wicket. For me, toss is something you cannot control. We have a batting that can chase the target. Just one change. Nortje comes in for Moeen Ali. He has been working hard on his game and I am really looking forward to see him bowl tonight.
We are going to bat first. Feel the wicket has been really well for the last couple of matches, the dew comes in but the outfield doesn’t skid through. Don’t remember the team changes, I will tell later. We need to take as many catches in the fielding and create some sort of brilliance.
Shreyas Iyer has won the toss and decided that PBKS will be batting first.
While PBKS are losing momentum, KKR are not getting the momentum. They have not won two mathes in a row this season. They are coming off a huge win over CSK and would want to double that.
After winning their first two matches, PBKS are now losing momentum as they have lost two of their last three matches. They let the second-highest IPL target be chased in their last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. PBKS would need to bounce back strongly.
Shreyas Iyer is up against the team he helped to win the IPL title last year. A year ago, he was the leader of the Knight Riders in their sensational title win, their third in the IPL. As the year turned, he is now at the helm of Punjab Kings, looking for a similar goal with them. Up against his PBKS is now his former team, KKR. This would be a gripping contest.
