    Pembrokeshire cricket results: Whitland off to flying start – The Western Telegraph

    Pembrokeshire teams began their county cricket leagues last weekend.
    In Division One, Haverfordwest claimed a resounding victory over Llangwm, winning by 142 runs.
    Mikey Jones was the top scorer with 86 runs, supported by Ben Field’s 47.
    Llangwm struggled against Haverfordwest’s bowling attack, with Rhys Sewell taking five wickets for 28 runs.
    Carew also started strong, beating Lawrenny by 57 runs.
    Brian Hall made 56 runs, while Shaun Whitfield took four wickets for just 27 runs.
    Carew’s win puts them in fifth place in the league table.
    Cresselly defeated Neyland by 57 runs, with Dan James scoring an unbeaten 74.
    Charlie Arthur also contributed with both bat and ball, scoring 20 runs and taking three wickets for 23 runs.
    In other matches, Saundersfoot beat Herbrandston by 108 runs, and Whitland crushed Burton by 130 runs.
    The wins put Saundersfoot and Whitland in second and first place respectively.
    Herbrandston is in last place.
    In Division Two, Hook, Llechryd (six wicket win over Carew II), Narberth, Pembroke (three wicket win over Johnston), and St Ishmaels (10 wicket win over Llanrhian) all secured victories.
    Narberth’s Jamie McCormack was the standout performer, scoring 93 runs in their 38-run win over Cresselly II.
    Hook’s Aled Phelps took six wickets for 26 runs in their seven-wicket victory over Burton II.
    Narberth and Hook are first and second in the league respectively.
    In Division Three, Hundleton (159 run win over Hook II), Stackpole (10 wicket win over Laugharne), Kilgetty (9 wicket win over Neyland II), Lamphey (4 wicket win over Pembroke Dock), and Fishguard (23 run win over Haverfordwest II) all started their seasons with wins.
    Hundleton’s Craig Williamson impressed with an unbeaten 103, while Robson Walkey took three wickets for just 15 runs.
    Division Four saw wins for Saundersfoot II (54 run win over Crymych), St Ishmaels II (84 run win over Llanrhian II), Lawrenny II (10 wicket win over Narberth II), and Pembroke II.
    Rob Smyth from Pembroke II was the standout bowler, taking seven wickets for 15 runs in their 166-run win over Llangwm II.
    In Division Five, Herbrandston II (seven wicket win over Neyland III), Llechryd II (15 run win over Pembroke Dock II), Haverfordwest IV (35 run win over Cresselly III), and Hundleton II (8 wicket ring over Whitland II) all claimed victories.
    Cresselly III’s Tom Rowlands scored the only century of the division, with 104 runs, but it was not enough to secure a win against Haverfordwest IV.
    Division Six had just one match, where Lamphey II won by 3 wickets against Haverfordwest/Cresselly.
    Lamphey II’s Dawson Davies was the star bowler, taking three wickets for just seven runs.
