    Prep roundup: 4A Bear River softball run-rules 6A Syracuse – Standard-Examiner

    SYRACUSE — Syracuse scored two runs in the third inning to take a 4-2 lead, but Bear River High softball responded with 16 straight runs in an 18-5, six-inning road win Thursday.
    Bella Douglas batted 3 for 4 with two home runs — giving her three dingers in the last two games — and drove in five for Bear River (13-1). Paycie Richards went 3 for 3. Luci Roche and Aubree Fry each hit a double and a single, and drove in three. Kate Wilson struck out 10 and gave up six hits in the win.
    Grace Thomas batted 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs for Syracuse (8-4). Olivia Brown hit a two-run double and Brooklyn Sackolwitz an RBI single.
    WASHINGTON TERRACE — Box Elder scored four runs in the sixth inning to trigger the run rule in a win at Bonneville.
    Brooke Richards batted 3 for 5 with two doubles and an RBI for Box Elder (12-0, 4-0 Region 5). Maclee WIllard went 2 for 3 with a double and drove in one. Kailee Hall, Alexis Hales, Kennadie Blackmer and Lucy Griffin each had two hits. Blackmer got the win with no hits, one walk and eight strikeouts over three innings.
    Madilyn DeGroot batted 2 for 3 and scored a run for Bonneville (3-9, 1-3). Dani Elmer added a single and Andie Elmer had an RBI.
    HYRUM — Fremont took control with seven runs in the second inning for a six-inning win at Mountain Crest.
    Savannah Palmatier and Cara Henrie each went 3 for 4 with a triple, a double and an RBI for Fremont (2-10). Jessica Broadbent homered and drove in five. Adee Johnsen pitched a complete game with six hits and two strikeouts.
    CLEARFIELD — In a battle of region unbeatens, Bountiful (9-1, 4-0 Region 5) led 3-2, then scored two insurance runs in the seventh inning to beat Clearfield.
    Lyla Leonhardt hit two doubles and drove in one for Clearfield (7-4, 4-1). Jenna Lloyd, Alexandra Bingham, Lilly Lara and Abbie Hale each hit a single.
    MILLVILLE — Norah Sunderland hit a single and Jewel Korth drew a walk for the only Darts baserunners as Davis (5-6) was blanked at Ridgeline.
    ROY — Lorelai Sherrod and Adrian Good each hit a triple for Roy (0-6, 0-5 Region 5) but it wasn’t enough as the Royals fell to Viewmont (5-6, 2-2) in five innings.
    LAYTON — Northridge scored five runs in the fifth inning to take a 10-7 lead, then saw Woods Cross (3-5, 2-4 Region 5) score nine runs in the sixth.
    Madisyn Lecour batted 4 for 5 with two doubles and two RBIs for Northridge (4-6, 1-3). Kaylee Shirreffs batted 3 for 5 with two doubles and drove in four. Berklee Larsen and Makaybree Nay also went 3 for 5, with Nay driving in two.
    FARMINGTON — Kiley Gazafy hit 4 for 5 with a triple, a double and four RBIs to lead a Farmington (5-3) non-region win. Lola Ogzewalla and Brooklyn Wright each drove in three runs.
    LAYTON — Parker Jeppson batted 3 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs to lead Northridge to a win.
    Jace Whitear and Ryan Small each had two hits and two RBIs for Northridge (7-3). Kam Shirreffs hit an RBI double. Tyler Martin pitched four innings with six hits and four strikeouts in the win.
    Kysen Gallegos hit a triple for Syracuse (2-5). Easton Hamblin batted 2 for 2. Dom Johnatakis and Bronx Manning hit an RBI single.
    OGDEN — Morgan scored 11 runs across the fourth and fifth innings to trigger the run rule in a region win at Ben Lomond.
    Tyson Talbot batted 2 for 2 with a double and drove in four for Morgan (8-3, 2-0 Region 13). Elliot Larson hit a two-run single. Luke Bauerle, Lincoln Gilson and Kolby Kendell each hit an RBI single. Camron Talbot earned the win with six strikeouts and two hits over four innings.
    Kaysen Reeves, Koban Moyes and Kale Ha’o each hit a single for Ben Lomond (1-6, 0-2). Kai Langston drove in Kayden Bingham.
    FARMINGTON — Box Elder scored the winning run in the top of the seventh inning.
    Kellen Kohler batted 2 for 2 with a double for Box Elder (3-5). Korbin Jensen hit two singles and Easton Green hit a double. Greyson Burt drove in three on one single. Jensen Kennedy earned the win with one hit and two strikeouts over 1 2/3 innings of relief.
    COVINA, Calif. — Layton totaled two hits and gave up four runs in the second inning in a loss at Northview (California).
    Fish Manning and Nik Bielaczyc each recorded a single for Layton (0-6).
    PLEASANT VIEW — Riley Morris hit a solo homer but Corner Canyon one-hit Weber (1-7) in a four-inning game.
    OGDEN — Owen Halverson hit 2 for 3 with a triple but Union (12-2, 2-0 Region 13) overcame a five-run Ogden fourth with four runs in the sixth to win the first game of a region doubleheader.
    Kash Thompson and Joel Gomez each had two hits for Ogden (0-8, 0-2).
    OGDEN — Rodrigo Torres hit 2 for 3 with a double in a loss to Union.
    WASHINGTON TERRACE — Lyric Featherstone scored twice and Northridge defeated Bonneville in region play.
    Jacque Herri also scored for Northridge (3-3, 3-2 Region 5). Bonneville (1-7, 1-5) did not report stats.

    SYRACUSE — Syracuse swept Weber 25-21, 25-11, 28-26
    Chase Barrett led Syracuse (10-3, 2-0 Region 1) with 14 kills, 16 digs and two aces. Gabe Meredith added 17 kills while Talon Morris dished out 39 assists.
    Weber (7-8, 0-2) did not report stats.
    WASHINGTON TERRACE — Bonneville swept Northridge 25-13, 25-15, 25-21
    Semisi Christensen tallied 15 kills for Bonneville (7-9, 2-4 Region 5). Talon Rocha and Tyler Cole added six kills each while Rocha served five aces. Jase Musgrave dished out 30 assists.
    Northridge (0-8, 0-6) did not report stats.
    KAYSVILLE — Davis grabbed a region win over Farmington (6-4, 1-1 Region 1) by scores of 25-23, 25-16, 19-25, 25-17.
    Luke McKnight tallied 18 kills for Davis (5-3, 2-0 Region 1). Chase Valentine served four aces and had eight digs. Siona Faeamani added eight digs and totaled 23 assists.
    OGDEN — Ogden bested Salt Lake Academy 27-25, 23-25, 25-18, 25-23.
    Keen Crowther and Adam Ballard each totaled 17 kills for Ogden (9-4). Crowther added eight digs while Ballard served two aces. Oscar Barragan added 11 digs.
