Rain ruins Clacks' cricket club chances of victory – Alloa Advertiser

In Round 6 of the season, Clackmannan County Cricket Club’s 1st XI faced off against Dunfermline, who won the toss and chose to bat on a good wicket.
Clacks made a strong start with Moon Sharif shining brightly, taking 3 wickets for just 23 runs, including two in a row during the third over.
His teammate, Rizwan Ashraf, also impressed with a tidy spell, conceding only 12 runs in his 8 overs.
Sai Daddolu added to the excitement with another 3 wickets for 30 runs, helping Clacks restrict Dunfermline to 132 runs, marking their best bowling performance of the season.
After a delicious tea featuring pakora and samosas, Clacks began their innings but only managed to score 10 runs before heavy rain forced the match to be abandoned after just 5 overs.
Meanwhile, the 2nd XI faced a similar fate at home against Stewart’s Melville.
They batted first in a reduced 30-over match, posting a solid total of 132 runs, with Zaid Shafique top-scoring with 42 runs.
Unfortunately, rain halted play before the second innings could begin.
Looking ahead, both teams hope for better weather this weekend, with the 2nd XI set to play Tranent at home and the 1st XI taking on an Edinburgh University staff team at Peffermill.
Most matches kick off on Saturdays at 1pm.
