India is all set to start their tour of England tomorrow on June 20 and the U-19 squad is prepared as well. Ahead of the tour, India U-19 captain Ayush Mhatre received a special send-off meeting.
Ayush Mhatre met Rohit Sharma at his residence. Rohit Sharma gifted the young opener a signed bat, offering encouragement before the squad’s departure.
Mhatre, who also opens for Chennai Super Kings, shared his excitement about meeting Sharma on Instagram. He posted a picture with the caption, “A bat, a blessing, and a memory of a lifetime — thank you Rohit da.”

The BCCI’s Junior Cricket Committee confirmed two squad changes for the tour. D Deepesh and Naman Pushpak replace Aditya Rana and Khilan Patel, respectively, after both original selections sustained injuries during the high-performance camp in Chennai. Rana has a lower back stress fracture, while Patel has a stress reaction in his right leg.
The 14-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi is also part of the squad. Suryavanshi made history in IPL 2025, becoming the youngest men’s T20 centurion with a 35-ball 101 for Rajasthan Royals against Gujarat Titans.
Suryavanshi finished the season with 252 runs at a staggering strike rate of 206.56. Mhatre himself impressed in the IPL, scoring 206 runs in six games at a strike rate of 187.27, including a notable 94 against RCB.
Meanwhile, Ayush Mhatre himself had a stellar IPL season. In his 7 innings, he bagged 240 runs at an average of 34.29 while maintaining a strike rate of 188.98. He also chipped in a massive 94 off 48 balls against RCB during the 52nd match of the tournament.
