LAKE CLEAR — The second annual Backcountry 3P (pedal/paddle/peak) was held here on Saturday, as 33 solo participants, six two-person teams and seven three-person teams completed the race.
The event, which is the Fall version of the Winter 3P, included three segments: a bike, a trail run and a paddle. The race also had three divisions, which were solo, two-person and three-person teams.
Jan Wellford won the solo race, while Dylan Cohen and Sabrina Hague took home the two-person honors and the trio of Olivia Caprio, Isaac Kristich and Timo Ziegler won the three-person competition.
The course is approximately 27 miles long with a 2-mile neutral start and 2-mile neutral finish for a total length of 31 miles.
Afte the neutral start, which begins at Charlie’s Inn in Lake Clear, the competitors bike along Adirondack Rail Trail and Floodwood Road for 10 miles. Then, they run up the road and trail to Floodwood Outpost for 2 miles, before paddling to Rollins Pond and back for 4 miles.

After that, the racers bike back along the rail trail for 7 miles to the finish line. The event ends with a neutral, untimed segment of two miles on the Adirondack Rail Trail until the starting line just past Conley Road.
