Team India’s star batter Virat Kohli has joined the RCB camp ahead of the upcoming IPL season. The player returned from Dubai on March 11 after having a successful run in the ICC Champions Trophy. On March 15, Kohli attended the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Innovation Lab Indian Sports Summit in Bengaluru.
In the summit, Virat emphasised certain points that can help India become a sports-forward nation. He also called out broadcasters to show more sports-related content rather than finding his favourite chole bhature spot in Delhi.

What I ate yesterday in my lunch isn’t related to cricket: Kohli

Virat Kohli, while addressing the Indian sports summit in Bengaluru, highlighted the need to show sports-specific content to the viewers.
“We are working towards India becoming a sports-forward nation. We have the vision. We have the groundwork happening today. It should be a collective responsibility of everyone involved. It’s not just about the infrastructure or the people who infuse the money. It’s also about the people who watch. We need education.” Kohli said at the event.
“A broadcast show needs to talk about the game and not what I ate yesterday for lunch or my favourite chole-bhature place in Delhi. You can’t have that in cricket matches. Rather, you could talk about what an athlete is going through,” he further added.
Virat Kohli is one of the most iconic sports personalities in the world. The player is always surrounded by fans wherever he goes. His hardcore fans are always fascinated with news and updates around him. Apart from his professional sports career, fans also watch out for the stuff he does in his daily life. With the recent statement made by Virat, the broadcasters might hesitate asking personal questions to the player.
With IPL kicking off from March 22, the RCB would be up against KKR in the inaugural match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. This season, Virat would be playing under the leadership of newly appointed skipper, Rajat Patidar.
