Pune, 26th December 2025: Yogesh XI and Brilliance Sports Academy teams dominated the opening day by defeating their respective opponents in the ‘SK Trophy’ inter-club Under-13 T20 cricket tournament organized by Pune Cricket Academy and Sagar Kamble.
In the tournament being held at the Tembhekar Farms Cricket Academy ground on Satara Road, Yogesh Eleven easily defeated Brilliance Sports Academy by 9 wickets, thanks to an unbeaten 69 runs scored by Arnav Ghate. Batting first, Brilliance Sports Academy’s innings ended at 90 runs in 16.3 overs. Veera Nikam scored 29 runs. Ankita Eje took three wickets for 18 runs, while Vedant Wangadare took two wickets. Yogesh Eleven easily chased down the target in 8.2 overs. Arnav Ghate single-handedly turned the match around with an unbeaten innings of 69 runs off 36 balls, including 16 fours. Sai Desai supported him with an unbeaten 9 runs, securing an easy victory for the team.
Thanks to the performance of Shri Gorhade, Brilliance Sports Academy opened their account with a victory against Pune Stars Academy in the last over with one wicket remaining. Batting first, Pune Stars Academy set a target of 150 runs in 20 overs. Tanishq Kanade (47 runs) and Kartikeya Kharat (37 runs) anchored the team’s innings. Brilliants Sports Academy chased down the target in the 20th over, losing 9 wickets. Significant contributions from Swaroop Pawar (37 runs), Shri Gorhade (23 runs), and Shaurya Shelar (18 not out) ensured the team’s victory.
A total of 8 teams are participating in this tournament, which is in its second year. The participating teams are Nahata Sports, Pune Police Boys, Specialized Cricket Academy, Yogesh Eleven, Pune Stars Academy, Specialized Clinic Cricket, Unique Cricket Academy, and Brilliants Sports Academy. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winning and runner-up teams. Individual awards will also be given in the tournament.
