Third-tier Arminia Bielefeld pulled off a stunning 2-1 upset over holders Bayer Leverkusen to reach their first-ever DFB-Pokal final. Despite Jonathan Tah’s early opener, Marius Woerl quickly equalized before Maximilian Grosser’s volley sealed the win. Bielefeld, the first non-top-two-division side to eliminate four Bundesliga teams in a single campaign, will face either Stuttgart or RB Leipzig in the final.
Thijs Dallinga scored brace as Bologna dominated Empoli 3-0 in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final. The Rossoblus, aiming for their first Coppa Italia title since 1974, took control early with goals from Riccardo Orsolini and a brace from Dallinga, who finished with six shots in total. Empoli, who are battling relegation in Serie A, struggled to create chances, with only one of their seven attempts hitting the target.
