WLWT and Hearst Television announced today that Sports Reporter and Anchor Jaron May is joining WLWT News 5 this April. Viewers can expect to see May covering local Cincinnati sports on weekend newscasts and during various newscasts throughout the week.
“We are excited for Jaron to join our sports team,” said WLWT News Director Jeff Benscoter. “His enthusiastic love of sports is clear, and his experience covering everything from Spring Training to Super Bowls will be an asset for all Cincinnati sports fans,” Benscoter added
May joins WLWT from Hearst Television’s Gulf Coast News in Fort Myers, Florida, where he covered a wide range of Southwest Florida sports, including MLB Spring Training, minor league hockey and baseball, and local high school and college teams. May was also instrumental in Hearst’s Olympics coverage leading up to the Paris games, reporting on several sports including the Rowing Olympic Trials.
