Tennessee Football Gets Good News on Coveted Running Back originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Then there were two.
On3’s Steve Wiltfong reported last week that that’s the situation with five-star running back Savion Hiter.
“I still think it’s Michigan and Tennessee when all said and done,” Wiltfong said during his Whiparound show on June 2. “Those are the programs I’m watching the most right now.
“I think they’re the programs that will take that recruitment up another level from an NIL standpoint if they have to in order to land one of the most coveted players on their board, respectively.”
In addition to the Tennessee Volunteers and Michigan Wolverines, the Ohio State Buckeyes and Georgia Bulldogs are in Hiter’s top four schools.
The running back plans to see all four programs on official visits.
But according to Wiltfong, the two visits to closely monitor are to Michigan and Tennessee.
Hiter, though, pushed back on Wiltfong’s report that he is down to only two schools.
“Where does this stuff come from when I’ve done 0 interviews,” Hiter posted as a quote tweet to a Wiltfong video on X.
Hiter will see the Wolverines first of his presumed “final two” during the weekend of June 13. The running back will then visit Knoxville, Tennessee the following weekend — June 20.
Wiltfong reported both Tennessee and Michigan have Hiter very high on their priority lists.
“I think Savion Hiter is the number one player overall on Michigan’s board,” added Wiltfong.
Hiter is the No. 1 running back and top Virginia prospect in the 2026 recruiting class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. The running back is also the No. 17 overall recruit in the class.
