However this World Series between the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers ends, Game 3 will always be remembered.
Not only was it the longest game in World Series history, lasting nearly seven hours, but it was also filled with a series of wild and unlikely occurrences, including Freddie Freeman’s walk-off home run in the bottom of the 18th inning. Just take a look at some of these nuggets pointed out by our own Jayson Stark:
• Freeman is the only person to hit a walk-off homer in the 18th inning of any MLB game. He’s also the only person to hit a walk-off grand slam with his team one out from defeat in any MLB game. And he has now done both in the last two World Series.

• Shohei Ohtani had four extra-base hits and five walks. That had never happened before in any game.
• Nobody had reached base seven times in a playoff game. Ohtani did so with five innings to spare.
• More Ohtani: He was the first to draw five walks and the first to draw four intentional walks in a World Series game.
There is a lot more, so read the story (if you have the time).
Then take this week’s quiz.
Then rest up for the rest of the series.
