Anaya Bangar, 23, the trans-daughter of former India cricketer Sanjay Bangar, went through hormone replacement therapy (HRT) back in April 2023 after initially going to England to play cricket.
Two years later, she is in the news after making a public appeal to the Board for Control in Cricket in India (BCCI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) to reconsider the inclusivity rules in cricket.

In her appeal, she has asked the boards to take a science-based approach to decide whether a trans athlete should be allowed to play at the highest level or not – Currently, the ICC and BCCI do not allow a trans-cricketer who has gone under HRT after male puberty to participate in women’s cricket.
Check out what she had to say in her latest post.
In the early hours of June 17, Bangar took it to Instagram, where she shared the findings of an 8-week scientific study which was conducted at Manchester Metropolitan University that analyzed her athletic performances.
The Mumbai cricketer has also written about the endurance and muscle power significantly reduced after HRT which should ideally make her eligible to play women’s cricket.

Additionally, she has also asked for an opportunity to meet the concerned authorities to present her findings and discuss the matter further, not just for her but for the greater good of trans-athletes. Check out her post below.
