Transfer news – LIVE!
The January transfer window will soon close but deals are happening all the time. Manchester United are among the busier clubs around at the moment, with Marcus Rashford expected to join Aston Villa on loan to finally end his first-team exile under Ruben Amorim. In return, the Red Devils are being linked with a shock move to sign Leon Bailey on loan from the Midlands giants.
Tottenham are another club expected to be busy. Spurs have already signed Kevin Danso on loan from Lens but reportedly remain on the lookout for a new attacking player to join Ange Postecoglou’s squad. Southampton’s Tyler Dibling is said to be a big target on that front.
Arsenal are also being tipped with a move to sign a new forward, having seen a bid rejected for Villa star Ollie Watkins. Sadly for the Gunners, the England forward came off injured against Wolves. Follow all the action LIVE with Standard Sport’s transfer blog!

Marcus Rashford has sent a message to Manchester United after his Aston Villa loan move was confirmed.
Rashford will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Villa Park, where he will have the opportunity to play in the Champions League and fight for a top four finish.
The England international has been exiled by new United manager Ruben Amorim, who has made no secret of his displeasure at Rashford’s efforts in training.
Upon confirmation of his move, Rashford wrote on Instagram: “I would like to thank Manchester United and Aston Villa for making this loan deal happen.
“I was lucky to have a few clubs approach me but Aston Villa was an easy decision – I really admire the way that Aston Villa have been playing this season, and the managers’ ambitions. I just want to play football and am excited to get started.
“I wish everyone at Manchester United all the best for the rest of the season.”
Marcus Rashford has joined Aston Villa on loan from Manchester United.
The England international will spend the rest of the season with Villa, who have an option to make the signing permanent at the end of the campaign.
Rashford was undergoing a medical around lunchtime on Sunday, just hours before United played Crystal Palace. That was the 12th straight match in which he had failed to make an appearance for the Red Devils, with Ruben Amorim naming him in the matchday squad just once in that time.
Villa will pay a high proportion of Rashford’s wages, which stand at more than £325,000 a week.
A move to Villa will allow Rashford to play Champions League football and is viewed as a low-risk option for the Midlands club, who have this week had to contend with the sale of striker Jhon Duran to Saudi side Al Nassr.

It has been a much quieter transfer window for Chelsea than in their recent past, but the Blues could still come back with an offer for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.
Napoli have also been rumoured suitors, but the likelihood of the 20-year-old leaving Amorim’s squad seemed to drop after he was named in United’s starting line-up for Sunday’s 2-0 loss at home to Crystal Palace.
Manchester City are in talks to sign Nico Gonzalez.
It has already been a very busy window for the reigning Premier League champions, who have brought in the likes of Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis as well as clinching agreements for Juma Bah and Christian McFarlane.
But they aren’t done yet, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that City are also pushing to sign Porto midfielder Gonzalez before the deadline.
He says discussions are ongoing between the clubs, with City wanting to negotiate a lower fee than his €60m release clause.
Borussia Dortmund want to sign Carney Chukwuemeka on loan.
BBC Sport report that Chelsea have made the 21-year-old surplus to requirements, so are ready to sanction his exit – on loan or permanently.
Chukwuemeka has struggled for opportunities at Chelsea, and has not made a Premier League appearance this season.
Chukwuemeka could also join partner club Strasbourg on loan.
Gabriel Jesus’ long-term anterior cruciate ligament recovery timeline has left Mikel Arteta in need of assistance in attack.
Watkins looks unlikely to leave Villa, particularly following Jhon Duran’s move to Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr, but the likes of Newcastle’s Alexander Isak and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko – also rumoured to be of interest – are looking increasingly unattainable.
Lloyd Kelly has completed his medical with Juventus.
One of the more left-field deals of January. Signed on a free last summer by Newcastle, barely had a sniff, and now heading to Juventus for £20m.
That deal will be confirmed tomorrow, reports Sky Sports.
Tottenham top brass have stuck with Ange Postecoglou for now, but the Australian boss has called for “help” to reinforce his injury-plagued side, who celebrated a 2-0 victory over Brentford on Sunday.
Some arrived Sunday in the form of Lens defender Kevin Danso on loan – with an obligation to buy in the summer – but Spurs remain in search of at least a striker and have been linked to Lorient forward Eli Junior Kroupi and Ipswich striker Liam Delap.
More on Manchester United’s attempts to sign Mathys Tel.
The Independent reports that United continue to struggle to agree a deal with Bayern Munich.
The German giants want a permanent sale or an obligation to buy if the teenager leaves on loan. So far, United have only offered a straight loan.
Tel has rejected Tottenham – who were ready to spend £50million – and has told Bayern he only wants United.
It’s not long now!
