    A large fire is burning early Monday morning at the former Virginia Intermont College campus on Moore Street in Bristol, Virginia.
    Today: Becoming breezy. Mostly cloudy and cold. Scattered rain or snow showers becoming likely, mainly after noon. Highs 37-43. West wind 5-20 mph with higher gusts.
    Tonight: Mountain snow likely. Scattered snow showers or flurries in the valleys. Cold. Lows 24-30. West wind 5-10 mph.
    Saturday: Scattered morning flurries and mountain snow showers. Frigid with some afternoon clearing. Highs 29-35. Northwest wind 5-10 mph.

    **Winter Weather Alerts for the higher terrain and near the KY/VA line this afternoon through midday Saturday (mainly above 2,500 feet). Accumulating snow and slippery road conditions will become likely in these areas.**
    Mostly cloudy today with highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
    Scattered rain or snow showers are expected to develop midday. Snow is likely across the higher terrain this evening and tonight with scattered snow showers or flurries in the valleys. Valley flurries and higher elevation snow showers will taper off midday Saturday.
    A light to locally moderate snowfall accumulation is likely for the higher terrain (including KY/VA line and TN/NC line into the Grayson County area). *Roads could become slick across the higher terrain this evening into Saturday morning with lows of 25 to 30.* At this point any accumulations in the valleys are expected to be near a half-inch or less with lows around 28 to 30.

    Breezy today and at times Saturday. Turning colder this weekend with highs in the 30s (just in time for the official start of winter Saturday morning at 4:20 AM). Lows in the upper teens to lower 20s Saturday and Sunday nights. Wind chills in the 20s Saturday under mostly cloudy skies. Sunshine returns Sunday.
    Not as cold by Monday with highs in the 40s. Highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s for Christmas Eve Tuesday. Lows Christmas morning in the 30s and highs Christmas Day in the lower to middle 50s for the Tri-Cities area. There's a chance of rain showers Christmas Day into Thursday.
    The normal high for this time of year in the Tri-Cities is 48. The normal low is 29.
