14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi is in England these days with the India U-19 team. He played all five youth ODIs for the Ayush Mhatre-led side and also made his presence felt in the first youth Test, which concluded in Beckenham on Tuesday (July 15). A day after the conclusion of the red-ball match in which he became the youngest Indian to take a wicket in the youth Test, Suryavanshi took to Instagram stories to share a post for his India U19 captain, Mhatre, to wish him on his 18th birthday.
In the photo post, which is now going viral on the internet, Suryavanshi shared a picture of him with Mhatre and captioned it, “Happy birthday legend."

Mhatre, who is celebrating his 18th birthday on Wednesday, like Suryavanshi, also made a big name for himself in IPL 2025.
He was signed as an injury replacement for Ruturaj Gaikwad by the Chennai Super Kings on April 10 and made the Mumbai-based cricketer his IPL debut against the Mumbai Indians on April 20 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In his maiden IPL fixture, Mhatre came out to bat at No. 3 for the MS Dhoni-led side and scored 32 runs from 15 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes.
His best performance with the bat in the IPL 2025 came in the match against RCB, which was played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on May 3. In that contest, he scored 94 runs from 48 balls but failed to help the Men in Yellow win the game.
Overall he played seven matches in IPL 2025 and, with the help of one half-century, amassed a total of 240 runs.

In the first innings of the first India-England youth Test, Mhatre scored 102 runs from 115 balls. He completed his century by hitting Archie Vaughan for a four. In the second innings, Ayush scored 32 runs from 43 balls.
Mhatre has also played in the Irani Cup, Ranji Trophy, and Vijay Hazare Trophy for Mumbai. In 16 innings of nine first-class matches played so far, he has 504 runs to his name, and in List A cricket, he has 458 runs in seven matches. His best score in 50-over cricket is 181 runs.
