Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: Virat Kohli continues his sensational run of form in the 50-over format with a sixth consecutive 50+ score in List A cricket, this time showing a strong boundary-hitting ability to help Delhi motor through the powerplay. Not Rohit Sharma’s day, though, as his aggressive mindset falls apart early with a golden duck for Mumbai.

It’s only been two days since bowlers across the country were walloped all over in the opening round of the 2025/26 Vijay Hazare Trophy – a day which saw 22 centurions, three of the four fastest centuries by Indian batters in List A cricket, a double century, and a team scoring 574 in one innings.

In that environment, the story was still all about Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Still two of the best batters going around in the world in the 50-over format, the two Indian greats were both amongst the centurions, and were just short of flawless: Rohit scored 155 in Mumbai’s walk-in-the-park chase vs Sikkim in Jaipur, while Virat Kohli returned after 15 years to work his way to 131 vs Andhra in a tricky chase in Bengaluru’s CoE ground.

Small grounds, flat pitches, manageable chases, a gulf in quality, and sublime form even heading into their pair of matches in the VHT – Rohit and Virat made the best of a very good situation. But they are only playing two matches in this tournament as preparation for New Zealand, with Delhi facing Gujarat and Mumbai playing Uttarakhand.

More of the same on the cards for two of India’s greatest? Or will the bowlers in this tournament come back fired up, refreshed, ready to earn some right hooks of their own and win back some ground in this tournament.

Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: Mumbai have their first wicket, and Shardul Thakur continues to be effective early. Dismisses the opener and provides the breakthrough, with Rohit Sharma completing the catch early on.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: For Karnataka, much more manageable chase than the last game, where they hauled down 410+ anyway. Mayank and Padikkal opening, but against a strong Kerala bowling attack. Interesting one to keep an eye on as well – Karun Nair, R Smaran, and Abhinav Manohar give this Karnataka XI plenty of quality.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: Welcome back, the chases have begun for our focus matches and in other contests around the country. Urvil Patel opens for Gujarat.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: Elsewhere around the country, still quite a few big scores. Jharkhand reach 301 with Shikhar Mohan’s century and Anukul Roy continuing his strong run of form with a quickfire 52 agaisnt Rajasthan.
Vidarbha stack on 365 vs Hyderabad thanks to Dhruv Shorey scoring 109(77).
J&K reach 341/7 at the end of their innings against Assam, largely thanks to Yawer Hassan’s 138.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: Excellent knock by Rinku Singh at number five for UP! Started off calmly but has stepped through the gears in incredible fashion. Whacks 10 fours and four sixes enroute to his century, and UP reach 360 with an over still to play. Showing off why he was chosen for the World Cup squad.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: First innings draw to a close in Jaipur and Bengaluru with Mumbai’s late effort pushing them to a very good score, and one they should defend. Delhi work their way to 254, and that might be short of par: Kohli and Pant played well for 77 and 70 respectively, and Harsh Tyagi chipped in with 40, but nobody else got going.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: Another Indian international having a great outing is Rinku Singh at the moment. Got given the platform by Aryan Juyal’s century, and is now adding the finishing touches. Currently on 65* with a strike-rate of 150, and joined by CSK mega-money by Prashant Peer, with the team on 324/5 with just under 4 overs to play.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: Excellent hand by Tamore but the real push has come from Shams Mulani, flexing some power as he reaches 42*(30). Mumbai on 310 now.
Delhi, meanwhile, struggling now. Losing wickets in a cluster again, 240/9. None of their team have been able to back up their two internationals with the bat.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: Uh oh! Jinxed him. Can’t motor on and provide that finish as he’s dismissed. He’ll be disappointed – his team needed the runs, and he needed a triple-digits score.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: That’s the state of our two focus games at the moment. Mumbai still going at a very solid rate thanks to wicketkeeper Tamore, batting on 64*.
Delhi have some work to do but Rishabh Pant is well set on 70*, and this is the period he will enjoy batting in. He will be looking at 300 from here but runs not too easy at the moment in Bengaluru.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: After Wednesday’s plethora of centuries, things have been quieter today. Harvik Desai scores 101 for Saurashtra against Haryana, dismissed on that score too though. No massive totals in the making yet either. Approaching the final 10 overs in all the contests now.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: Elsewhere, good knock from Dhruv Jurel up against Chandigarh. At a good rate coming in at number 4 as well.
No Ishan Kishan or Abhishek Sharma in action today either – both set to join the Indian camp for the NZ T20Is.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: That’s him at his best, isn’t it? Doesn’t matter that he’s a couple of runs from a landmark, if he sees the chance to go for it, he will. Good innings and important one for Rishabh Pant to get back amongst the runs after a few months away from white ball cricket. Looking for a big one here.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: Shardul Thakur in at 7 and playing the way he knows best. Races to 21* with two fours and a six already. Mumbai looking for a big finish with 16 overs to play, at 210/5.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: Some backs-to-the-wall batting needed from Rishabh Pant now, Delhi go five down. Has to stand up and take responsibility with the lower order. Can he manage this situation?
    149/5 after 31.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: Pant gets going! Watchful to start his innings after a few quick wickets, but starts to counter now. Picks up a six and a couple of boundaries, onto 30*.
In Jaipur, both the Khan brothers dismissed on 55. Middle order needs to step up in both games.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: In the Tamil Nadu vs MP match, TN bat first with Sai Sudharsan and Narayan Jagadeesan opening. Sudharsan reaches his fifty, and Jagadeesan not far behind, as the opening stand approaches a 100-run partnership.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: Delhi losing their way here and Kohli’s positivity sees his downfall too! Is stumped by Urvil Patel as he tries to step out, and he has to walk after a really exciting innings.
Lots of pressure on Rishabh Pant and Ayush Badoni now with Delhi on 108/4 and lagging.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: Rana doesn’t last long today, Delhi need to be careful here. Captain Rishabh Pant joins Kohli in the middle now to try and carry this innings forward.
Musheer reaches 50 in Jaipur, Sarfaraz not too far behind.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: Got the runs under his belt and now doing what he does best – rotating strike through the middle overs, keeping it ticking over and crafting a partnership. That’s typical stuff now.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: Arpit Rana was trying to hold up and end while Kohli attacked but is dislodged here. Nitish Rana had a great stand with Kohli on Wednesday and joins him here again.
Mumbai rocked by two early wickets in Jaipur but brothers Sarfaraz and Musheer rebuild.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: There’s Kohli’s half-century, in 29 deliveries! Batting on 58* at the moment with 12 fours and a six – only 4 runs not via the boundary. This is very similar to how Rohit batted in the previous game, boundary-heavy and adding lots of impetus.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: Rapid stuff from Kohli. Batting on 40*(22) and ensures that Priyansh dismissal doesn’t hurt Delhi’s scoring too much. T20 stuff.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: Kohli is off on a canter. Already five fours with his six. Backing himself to make the most of the poweplay.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Score: Kohli showing his own attacking tendencies when he has arrived to bat in the powerplay! Started with a four, now picks up a six. Ominous form from the great man!
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Updates: No sterling start for Priyansh Arya this time, gone for just 1. Brings Kohli to the crease early in the piece again – starts off with an early boundary!
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Updates: No success for Rohit Sharma today! Dismissed very early, it’s a first-ball duck in the first over. Tries to continue his ultra-aggressive style with a pick-up pull shot, but finds himself caught out. Not today for him! Disappointment for the fans.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Updates: Here we go then! Dekhi will have the dangerous Arya opening, but Arpit Rana will want to protect Kohli a bit after being dismissed for a duck in the first over last time out.
Rohit Sharma with Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who was subdued and watchful in the opener.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Updates: News from the tosses! Uttarakhand and Gujarat both win the flip, and put Mumbai and Delhi in to bat first respectively.
Runs on the board key today – and the senior players needed to guide the testing first period.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Updates: Vaibhav Suryavanshi won’t be making an appearance for Bihar against Mizoram today. India’s U-19 World Cup campaign begins in just under three weeks in Zimbabwe and Namibia, so his participation in training camps in the lead-up would be the reason.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Updates: Tosses will have taken place by now, so just waiting for that information to start filtering in. Chasing was just a touch better overall, as expected, on the first day of action given the early 9:00 AM start offering just a little bit for bowlers to work with.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Updates: Tosses should be taking place in just about 10 minutes. While our focus will be on Kohli and Sharma, there are still going to be many players who will call for attention today.
There should be some really interesting matches throughout too: Madhya Pradesh vs Tamil Nadu, Karnataka vs Kerala, Hyderabad vs Vidarbha, and Baroda vs Bengal look particularly appetising today.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Updates: On the first day of this tournament, it was a total mismatch between bat and ball in most of the games played across the country. Three players scored centuries inside 35 balls, remember. But how big a threat is this for Indian cricket domestically? Not one to be underestimated.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Updates: The two stands opened to the public were chock-full of people who arrived to watch Rohit Sharma bat and received a masterclass, and today morning, it’s more of the same as early morning crowds roll into Jaipur’s cricket stadium to catch a glimpse. Fans across the country value these superstars to such an extent that this is hardly a surprise.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Updates: Next up for Delhi after beating Andhra is Gujarat, who will have key bowlers like Harshal Patel and Ravi Bishnoi for Delhi’s middle order batters to contend with. Rishabh Pant fell cheaply trying to wrap things up in the first match, and he is one of the players who will want to try and have a monster season to play himself into the reckoning. Kohli, meanwhile, is in an unbelievable run of scoring, and will back himself to continue that run through the next couple of weeks and into the New Zealand series.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Updates: They weren’t the only ones. The first day of the VHT saw 3 of the 4 fastest List A centuries, including one for Ishan Kishan on his return to the Indian squad, one for Vaibhav Suryavanshi as he bulldozed his way to 190 off just 84, and one for Padikkal as he scored 144 to help Karnataka chase down a score well in excess of 400. Through and through, it was a day for the batters across the country.
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Updates: There were very many centuries in the first round of matches for this season’s edition of the VHT – and several notable ones – but the key focus was always Kohli’s return to the VHT after 15 years, and Rohit’s after 7. They didn’t disappoint. Easygoing centuries at a high rate of scoring, commanding their respective chases and taking full control. They are still amongst the top 3 ranked batters in ODI cricket – is it any surprise they were in full flow?
Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE Updates: Merry Christmas, and a happy Boxing Day for all the cricket lovers! Focus is over in Melbourne as England fight to salvage pride, but as much so back home in India, as the country’s two biggest active heroes try to get wins on thei board for their respective teams in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Stay tuned for all the updates!
