    Another talented crop of area stars are up for Athlete of the Week, and this time around, it’s postseason editon.
    With no area football games this week in the leadup to the region quarterfinal round, the spotlight shifts to area runners, swimmers and golfers.
    Whitton West of Walton, Niceville’s Teray Geiger and Jakobe Gilyard, Crestview’s Manwell Robinson and Trey Hardman, Freeport’s Emily Doi, FWB’s Diandre Mayes, South Walton’s Connor Rooney and Maci Jones, and Choctaw’s Tamen Zabetakis and Jordan Figueroa have been our previous AOTW winners. So it’s time for you to decide who’ll follow their lead.
    Voting runs through noon Friday, and soon after the winner will be announced here. Vote now and vote often.
    Sawyer Downs, FWB: Downs was a star at the 2A state swim meet, finishing fifth in the 100-yard butterfly (50.66), seventh in 200-yard freestyle (1:46.44) and helping the 400-yard freestyle relay to a fifth-place finish (3:14.81).
    Isabell Harter, Choctawhatchee: The senior finished runner-up in the District 1-3A meet at Twin Oaks, finishing the 5K in 18 minutes and 38.10 seconds.
    Dominic Ferguson, Rocky Bayou: The junior was the only one to break the 16-minute barrier at Twin Oaks, winning the District 1-1A title in 15:57.50.
    Neely Kight, South Walton: The sophomore carded a 1-under-par 70 at regionals to finish tied for third for the state-bound Seahawks.
    Bryant Olson, Niceville: The freshman finished third in the District 1-3A meet with a 16:11.20 5K, helping lead the Eagles to a team district title at Twin Oaks.
