It’s time to vote for The Tuscaloosa News Boys Athlete of the Week for Nov. 1-7.
Last week’s winner was Hubbertville’s Cole Brand. He won 50.17% of the vote (23,142) after amassing 231 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns runs, three receptions and a passing touchdown, with 11 tackles on defense in a 50-20 win against Hackleburg.
Typically, a separate poll is also held for the Girls Athlete of the Week when at least five programs submit nominations. However, this week did not meet that threshold, so only the boys poll is available. Any sport can nominate for athlete of the week and the top performer list.
Nominees for athlete of the week come from the top performers the week before. Coaches and team stat keepers can send in stats to nominate players for top performer lists to sports@tuscaloosanews.com by 11 p.m. Friday. Voting will last until noon Thursday, Nov. 13.
