Team India had to deal with another injury scare as skipper Rohit Sharma was hit on his left knee in the nets ahead of the upcoming Boxing Day Test against Australia in Melbourne. The opening batter looked in discomfort and continued to practice for a bit, before walking off.
According to a report by the Times of India, Rohit Sharma sustained the blow while facing throwdown specialist Daya. After the session ended, the skipper was attended to by the physio team, who placed an ice pack on the affected area. His leg was placed on a chair to ensure it was comfortable.

The extent of the injury remains to be seen, but the skipper has three days to recover ahead of their next clash. With tomorrow expected to be a rest day for the visitors, any swelling associated with the blow should subside by then.
Earlier, it was KL Rahul who had been on the receiving end of a blow in the nets. On December 22 (Saturday), KL Rahul was hit on his right hand while batting. He was hit on the elbow during a match simulation before the series as well.
The Hitman’s Border-Gavaskar campaign has been a forgettable affair so far. He missed the series opener in Perth to attend the birth of his child and moved down to the middle-order to allow KL Rahul to open with Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Rohit struggled in the pink ball Test at the Adelaide Oval, recording multiple single-digit scores. The right-handed batter could only record 10 runs in the rain-curtailed drawn encounter at The Gabba in Brisbane.
The fourth Test between India and Australia is scheduled to begin from December 26 onwards at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The series is currently level at 1-1, with two matches remaining.
