India will be eyeing to level the series when they face Australia in the highly intense second ODI match at Adelaide Oval on Thursday.
Australia started this blockbuster ODI series with a dominant 7-wicket victory over India in the rain-interrupted match in Perth, the first victory for the hosts at the Optus Stadium. Australia had to chase down 131 runs in 26 overs under the DLS method; Mitchell Marsh, with his unbeaten 46 runs, powered the team to a convincing victory.

India’s 8-match dominance in the One-Day Internationals ended with a disappointing defeat against Australia on Sunday under Shubman Gill’s captaincy debut. The Indian batting lineup was blown away in front of the Aussie pace attack on a spicy Perth surface, managing to score just 136/9 in 26 overs, thanks to the resilient knock from KL Rahul (38) and Axar Patel (31).
The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch the match, kickoff times and the latest lineup news.

This ODI match takes place at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide, Australia, and starts on Thursday, October 23 at 2:00 p.m. local time (ACDT).
Here’s how that time translates across various Australian time zones:
Josh Inglis, who missed the first ODI match due to a calf strain, will miss the Adelaide match as well. Josh Philippe took the gloves in Alex Carey‘s absence in the first match and had an impressive outing in Perth; it is likely that Carey might return for the second match.
Adam Zampa, who missed the opening match due to paternity reasons, is likely to return for the last two games. Australia had some last-minute injury blows, as their star all-rounder Cameron Green was ruled out from the ODI series due to low-grade side soreness. He was replaced by in-form Marnus Labuschagne in the ODI squad, but Matthew Short was given an opportunity instead of Labuschagne in the first match.
Mitchell Owen made his ODI debut in the opening match along with Matthew Renshaw; both will retain their places for the second match.
On the bowling front, the Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood duo remains the bowling powerhouse for the Aussies; they wreaked havoc on the Indian batting unit in Perth and will play a crucial role in Adelaide as well. Nathan Ellis will continue to be in the starting lineup as the supporting third pacer, strengthening the pace attack.
Australia predicted XI: Mitch Marsh (c), Travis Head, Matthew Renshaw, Matthew Short, Josh Philippe/Alex Carey (wk), Mitch Owen, Cooper Connolly, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Ellis, Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa.
Shubman Gill‘s ODI captaincy tenure started in a not-so-convincing fashion, losing the opening match at Perth.
Veteran legendary batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma return to the ODIs after the Champions Trophy triumph, but they had to depart early, scoring 8 and 0, respectively. However, they will retain their places for this match.
KL Rahul, who took the wicket-keeping duties, was impressive with his bat on a tough surface. Axar Patel played a resilient knock too.
Nitish Kumar Reddy debuted in the opening match. India will be keen to bring Kuldeep Yadav to Adelaide, who missed the Perth ODI for bowling combinations. He is likely to replace Washington Sundar in the playing XI.
Mohammed Siraj spearheaded the bowling attack along with Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana. The trio is likely to retain their spot for the second match.
India predicted XI: Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill (c), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Axar Patel, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj.
