    Carlos Alcaraz (2) beat Andrey Rublev (14) in four sets after Aryna Sabalenka (1) beat Elise Mertens (24) in straight sets. Amanda Anisimova (13) needed three sets to beat Linda Nosková on Court 1.
    Taylor Fritz (5) beat Jordan Thompson in a walkover, and British hopeful Cameron Norrie held off Nicolás Jarry in five sets.
