Australia XI: Usman Khawaja, Sam Konstas, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Mitch Marsh, Alex Carey (wk), Pat Cummins (c), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Scott Boland
India squad: Rohit Sharma (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep
Cummins is zoning in on the pads of the Indian batters, but the umpires aren't showing any interest in his appeals.
Promising start for the ever-reliable duo of Starc and the skipper.
Big shout from Cummins for lbw on Rahul, who is yet to score, but the umpire says no.
After a little bit of debate, the Aussie skipper decides not to review it and India survive.
Cummins opens up for the hosts at the other and is driven down the ground by Sharma.
"That's why he is at his best at the top of the order – the field is up and there's a lot of open spaces," Ravi Shastri said on Fox Cricket.
That didn't last too long however, skying an attempted pull shot up in the air and Boland makes no mistake with the catch, giving the Aussies an early breakthrough.
"That is a really big mistake … it's a nothing shot," Michael Vaughan said.
"He is just too early in the innings and hasn't got used to the pace and bounce.
"It's a sad state for the Indian captain, averaging 11 in his past 14 Test innings."

Bit of confusion as Jaiswal drives down the ground, clips the hand of Starc and sneaks through for a single, despite his skipper attempting to send him back.
Carey and the slips go up for a caught-behind as Jaiswal is stunned by a cracking ball, but they opt not to send it upstairs for review.
Rohit Sharma will open the batting for India alongside young gun Yashasvi Jaiswal, with the in-form KL Rahul slotting into the No.3 role.
Mitchell Starc, as expected, takes the new ball for the Aussies.
Bumrah gets the final wicket and avoids going for figures of 100 for the innings.
The star quick traps Lyon in front lbw and despite the Aussie spinner reviewing the decision, he obviously knew it was out given he started walking off the field.
Replays show the ball clipping the bails and it remains with the umpire's call.
Australia all out for 474 and we'll have India out to bat soon.
Lyon plays a cracking straight drive down the ground for a boundary off Siraj.
Every run is valuable for the Aussies and even more damaging for India.
"This last-wicket partnership will be frustrating," Ravi Shastri said on Fox Cricket.
Another lbw sent upstairs by Boland, this time off the bowling of Siraj.
And the umpire is AGAIN forced to overturn his decision after the replays show the ball missing leg-stump and Boland survives once more.
Jadeja looks to have claimed his fourth wicket, but Boland sends it upstairs immediately.
Replays show a clear edge from the Aussie cult hero and the lbw decision is overturned.
Oh dear!
Smith charges down the wicket at Akash, inside-edges the ball into the pitch and it rolls back onto his stumps and dislodges the bail.
"It was an agonising watch, it just trickled back," Adam Gilchrist said on Fox Cricket.
"That is one of the more extraordinary dismissals. He was helpless to try and stop it."
Michael Vaughan was stunned by the wicket.
"I have never seen a batter get out like that … you have to chuckle at it," he said.
A disappointing end to a fine innings for Smith, who is on his way for 140.
