Crashes
LCSO: one-vehicle rollover with injuries, Friday, 2300 block of U.S. 75, Rock Rapids, Iowa. Chris Schwartze, Rock Rapids, was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Traverse southbound on U.S. 75 when he swerved to avoid a deer. Schwartze lost control of the vehicle, crossed the northbound lane and entered the northbound ditch, causing the vehicle to roll and coming to a rest on the passenger side. Schwartze was extricated from the vehicle by Doon Fire and Rescue and transported to Avera Hospital Rock Rapids. Assisting at the scene was the Lyon County Ambulance.

WPD: crash without injuries, 5:03 p.m. Monday, Minnesota 60 and Oxford Street. Worthington Fire and Rescue and Worthington ambulance dispatched.
JCSO: two-vehicle crash with injuries, 6:57 p.m. Tuesday, Jackson County 20 between Lakefield and Okabena. A 2020 Honda Pilot was traveling eastbound on Jackson County 20 with three occupants. A 2014 Chrysler 300 was traveling westbound on Jackson County 20. The Pilot reportedly crossed the centerline and into the westbound lane and sideswiped the Chrysler. One passenger in the Pilot was transported to an area hospital by the Lakefield Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. After investigating, the driver of the Honda Pilot was arrested for DUI. He was also cited for no Minnesota driver’s license and no insurance. The Lakefield Fire Department, Lakefield Ambulance and Okabena Fire Department also responded to the scene.
Minnesota State Patrol: crash with injuries, 11:02 p.m. Wednesday. Alexis Hultgren, 17, of Luverne, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe southbound on U.S. 75 when it left the road and rolled, landing on its roof. Both Hultgren and a passenger, Lucy Smith, 17, of Luverne, were transported to Pipestone Hospital. Both were wearing seatbelts, and road conditions were reported as snowy/icy. Hardwick EMS, the Luverne Ambulance and Rock County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
