RCB Move Beyond Cricket, Launch Made Of Bold Sports Programme To Discover Talents Across India – Jagran English

Royal Challengers Bengaluru has launched the Made of Bold Sports development program to enhance athletic talent in India. This initiative focuses on supporting under privileged athletes through a partnership with NGOs, aiming to create a sustainable sports ecosystem and elevate the country's sports ecosystem.
The main motive of this initiative is to spread awareness about inclusivity and community development with the help of sports and also resonate with the idea of helping India become a sport-friendly country. This initiative was started to support the densely talented regions in North Karnataka to help the sprinters hailing from tribal communities.
To identify talent and nurture upcoming athletes from all regions, IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru is ecstatic to reveal the Made of Bold sports development program.
“The Made of Bold initiative is an integral part of RCB’s broader vision of a Sports Forward Nation, which seeks to establish a sustainable and robust sporting ecosystem for India. This endeavor aims to identify and nurture athletes and initiate dialogue among key industry stakeholders for active sports development in the country,” Rajesh Menon, who is the head and vice president of RCB said.

“We truly believe sports and communities coming together lead to long-term rewards for all. This is not only for the identified and nurtured talent but also for the socio-economic impact on the community. We aim to do this with RCB’s Made of Bold Sports Development Programme in support of long-term development with a focus on bridging the gaps with underserved communities via the medium of sports”, he added.
Talking about this program, RCB’s star all-rounder Shreyanka Patil said, “I am thrilled to witness the launch of the ‘RCB’s Made of Bold Sports Development Programme’. This is truly what we Indian sportspeople need – building inclusivity and offering a platform for athletes and their communities to thrive. India is a massive country with plenty of untapped sporting potential, and this initiative is a step in the right direction.”
RCB’s Made of Bold Sports Development Programme starts from Mundgod, a small town in Uttara Kannada district. It’s a tribal area where India’s upcoming sprinters live. The young kids of this community look up to Olympic champion Usain Bolt and Noah Lyles and for them running is not just a sport. RCB’s Made of Bold sport development program emphasizes the ambitious dream of helping Mundgod become the country’s sprint capital.
RCB created the Made of Bold Sports Development Programme along with a few non-profit sports organizations like GoSports Foundation and Bridges of Sports Foundation. This initiative includes education, training, and education and helping this tribal community a mainstream sporting venue.
This initiative will try to bring out at least 25 junior athletes, who would be getting sports training under the Bridges of Sports Foundation. They will help 400 children in a 2-tier league and of these top 25 performers would get rigorous training in 300 sessions, which will help them qualify for state and national tournaments. Moreover, two outstanding athletes would receive advanced training under brilliant coaches, who had earlier trained various Olympic medalists as a part of the initiative started by Bridges of Sports Foundation in the UK.
Talking about the same, Deepti Bopiah, who is the CEO of the GoSports foundation said, “We are excited to join hands with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru to help nurture talent within communities. The life and journey of an athlete are not easy, and the presence of bankable support systems at all levels is an essential component of success. We have enjoyed the opportunity to design and implement an innovative program like Made of Bold with RCB. We are confident it will give many of the most deserving young athletes a chance to grow and shine.”
